Rosenheim launches new capital to create a sustainable and attractive bus service in the city. The city is taking over Rosenheim's public transport services and establishing its own transport company, Verkehrsgesellschaft Rosenheim GmbH & Co KG.

"Public transport is an important part of public services and belongs in the hands of the city, which is why we will be doing this ourselves in future," says Mayor Andreas März. "With this step, we are making a significant contribution to ensuring that public transport becomes a real alternative to motorized private transport. We are actively shaping the transport revolution and driving it forward in Rosenheim!"

Among other things, the city of Rosenheim is acquiring all of the city transport buses and taking on its employees. "The transition will go smoothly for passengers and employees and the positive aspects as well as the increase in the attractiveness and effectiveness of transport will not be long in coming," adds März. "The fact that city transport is now only the responsibility of one operating company means that decision-making processes will be shorter and more direct."

The city of Rosenheim would like to thank Regionalverkehr Oberbayern, which has steered public transport in Rosenheim back onto a safe course in the difficult times following the coronavirus crisis.
