Import of a vehicle from an EU country

New vehicle

You would like to register a new vehicle imported from an EU member state to your main residence or business in the city of Rosenheim.

    • Proof of type approval
      • by EC certificate of conformity/CoC
      • if no EC certificate of conformity or foreign registration documents are available: a confirmation by the manufacturer that no preliminary documents and no certificate of origin have been issued or applied for
      • if no EC type approval exists: individual expert opinion in accordance with § 13 EG-FGV
      • if applicable, data confirmation from an officially recognized expert if the necessary technical data cannot be taken over completely from the EC type approval (e.g. German pollutant class)
    • Foreign registration certificates, if available
    • Presentation of the vehicle for identification
    • Proof of ownership (original purchase contract/invoice)
    • Notification for sales tax purposes
    • insurance confirmation (7-digit number of the eVB)
    • Valid ID card or passport of the vehicle owner or extract from the commercial register and business registration as well as ID card and power of attorney of the responsible person authorized to sign (managing director, authorized signatory)
    • in the case of associations (GbR): Proof of the association (business registration, partnership agreement). The designation of a responsible person, who is registered as the vehicle owner, is required. This person must identify himself/herself. If the designated representative is not authorized to represent the company alone, a power of attorney from all shareholders and a copy of the valid identification documents are required - additional power of attorney for GbR.
    • If applicable, power of attorney of the authorized representative(s), the authorized representative(s) must identify themselves.
    • in the case of minors, the holder's identity card and a declaration of consent from the parent or guardian. The consent must be accompanied by the identity cards of the authorized signatories. If only one person is the legal guardian, this must be proven by court decision, certificate of appointment or other suitable documents.
    • Declaration of participation in the direct debit procedure

Used vehicle

You would like to register a used vehicle imported from an EU member state to your main residence or business in the city of Rosenheim.

    • Proof of type approval/operating permit
      • by foreign registration certificates with registration of an EC type approval
      • EC certificate of conformity/CoC
      • if no EC type approval exists: individual expert opinion in accordance with § 13 EC-FGV or § 21 StVZO
      • If necessary, data confirmation from an officially recognized expert if the necessary technical data cannot be taken over completely from the EC type approval (e.g. German pollutant class).
    • foreign registration certificates
    • Foreign license plates, if applicable, if the vehicle is still registered
    • Proof of a valid general inspection (if an inspection should have taken place in accordance with the deadlines in Annex VIII of the StVZO )
    • Presentation of the vehicle for identification
    • Proof of ownership (original purchase contract/invoice)
    • Notification for VAT purposes for vehicles up to 6,000 km or up to six months after initial registration
    • Insurance confirmation (7-digit number of the eVB)
    • Valid ID card or passport of the vehicle owner or extract from the commercial register and business registration as well as ID card and power of attorney of the responsible person authorized to sign (managing director, authorized signatory)
