Disposal of electrical scrap and waste electrical equipment

The old television, the broken cell phone or the outdated microwave oven - electrical appliances can easily be disposed of in Rosenheim. For an environmentally friendly and targeted return of valuable recyclables into the material cycle, electrical scrap and old electrical appliances can be handed in free of charge at the recycling center at Innlände 25.

Retailers also take back old electrical appliances free of charge. All retailers with a sales area for electrical appliances of at least 400 m2 are obliged to take back smaller electrical appliances with an edge length of up to 25 cm, e.g. toasters and cell phones, free of charge.

Since July 1, 2022, supermarkets and discounters with a total sales area of at least 800 m2 that offer electrical appliances in their assortment several times or permanently in addition to food must also make it possible to take back old appliances with an edge length of up to 25 cm, even if no new appliance is purchased.

For appliances larger than 25 cm, e.g. televisions or washing machines, the take-back of an old appliance of the same type must also be offered free of charge when a new appliance is purchased. This also applies to mail-order sales.

If you have any questions, please contact the staff of the Environment and Green Spaces Office on 08031 365 16 92 or the recycling center on 08031 365 23 90.
