Mechanics for agricultural and construction machinery technology are involved in the planning, maintenance, testing, fault diagnosis, repair, and equipping and retrofitting of agricultural and construction machinery as well as motor-driven equipment in workshops and on job sites.

The basis for the amount of the training allowance is the collective agreement for trainees in the public sector (TVAöD - Besonderer Teil BBiG) in the currently valid version. According to this, the following are paid during training (gross): 1st year of training: approx. 890 € 2nd year of training: approx. 940 € 3rd year of training: approx. 990 € In addition, there is an annual special payment as well as capital-forming benefits (as of June 2016 according to the 2016 collective agreement).
