Gardener

The training lasts 3 years. It is divided into theoretical and practical training sections. Specialization "Horticulture and Landscaping": In the 1st year of training, you will attend the Staatl. Berufsschule III in Traunstein once or twice a week, where you will be taught general education subjects (German, religion, social studies, economics and law) and vocational subjects (such as botany, calculus, design, gardening, garden technology).

In the 2nd and 3rd year of training, you will attend the technical school for horticulture and landscaping in Höchstätt on the Danube in several blocks (2-3 weeks each). The lessons are wide-ranging and action-oriented. It provides a great insight into the many fields of activity that will later be necessary in your daily work:

• in the general education subjects of German, religion, social studies, economics and law
• in job-related subjects such as specialized arithmetic, botany, botany, landscape gardening, specialized practice.

In addition, our trainees attend inter-company training courses at DEULA Bayern in Freising. A technical course (engine course) is compulsory. Four further elective courses are taken in the areas of concrete construction, natural stone wall and stair construction, natural stone paving and surfacing work, dry stone wall construction and perennials, timber construction and facade greening, pond construction and roof greening, landscape maintenance and engineering biology, tree care and pruning, planting and maintenance of perennial plantings, tree protection and tree care, lawn and tennis courts.

You will complete the practical, action-oriented training in the various areas of the Rosenheim municipal gardening department: tree care, sports field maintenance, landscaping and maintenance of public green strips.

Specialization "Perennial Gardening": The theoretical training takes place exclusively at the State Vocational School in Munich. The subject "Landscape gardening" is omitted from the vocational subjects.

In the inter-company training, a technical course must be attended at DEULA Bayern. The elective courses are omitted. You will complete the practical, action-oriented training in the production area of the city nursery, where you will be trained in the cultivation and culture of flowering shrubs and ornamental plants.

• By the time you are hired, you will have earned a qualifying secondary school diploma or an intermediate school leaving certificate (Mittlere Reife) or an equivalent (business school diploma) or higher school education (high school diploma).
• You can withstand great physical strain and enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• You have the ability and interest to acquire a very broad range of knowledge in the individual areas of this profession.

With appropriate academic and practical achievements and vacant positions, you can be employed as a skilled worker in the various areas of the city gardening department. After 2 or 3 years of professional experience, you can attend the technical school (2 years of full-time instruction) or the one-year master school.

The basis for the amount of the training allowance is the collective agreement for trainees in the public sector (TVAöD - Besonderer Teil BBiG) in the currently valid version.

According to this, the following are paid during training (gross):

1st year of training: approx. 1,060 € 2nd year of training: approx. 1,100 € 3rd year of training: approx. 1,160 €.

In addition, there is an annual special payment and capital-forming benefits!
