Road builders produce the substructure and the surface of roads, paths and squares and maintain traffic routes. You can find a more detailed description on the "BERUFENET" page of the Federal Employment Agency.

Training information

  • The training lasts 3 years

    Detailed description of the training program

    You will attend the State Vocational School in Lauingen (Danube) in block instruction. You will also take part in inter-company training units at training centers run by the Bavarian construction industry. The weekly working time is 39 hours.

    • You must have successfully completed secondary school or a higher level of education (Quali, Mittlere Reife) by the time you are hired.
    • You can withstand great physical strain and enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
    • You have the ability and interest to acquire a very broad range of knowledge in the individual areas of this profession.

  • With appropriate academic and practical achievements and vacant positions, you can be employed as a skilled worker in the various areas of the construction depot.

  • The basis for the amount of the training allowance is the collective agreement for trainees in the public sector (TVAöD - Besonderer Teil BBiG) in the currently valid version. According to this, the following are paid during training (gross): 1st year of training: approx. € 1,000 2nd year of training: approx. € 1,060 3rd year of training: approx. € 1,100 In addition, there is an annual special payment and capital-forming benefits! (Status: March 2019)
