Appeal by the Lord Mayor on Remembrance Day
To honour the memory of the dead of the two world wars, all victims of terror, persecution, flight or expulsion from their homeland as well as the soldiers and emergency services who have lost their lives in war and crisis zones or who risk their lives day after day, the city of Rosenheim is holding this year's joint commemoration of Remembrance Day on Sunday, 16 November 2025 at 10 a.m. in front of the war cemetery at the municipal cemetery. The event will begin with an orderly procession through the cemetery grounds.
Order of the commemoration:
- Choral by the town band
- Speech by Lord Mayor Andreas März
- Address by the clergy: Dr Bernd Rother, Evangelical Lutheran Church
- Common "Our Father"
- Laying of the wreath
- Bavarian anthem
- National anthem
- Concluding piece of music by the town band
The population of Rosenheim is asked to express their solidarity with the dead, whose sacrifices are both a legacy and an obligation for the living, and to take part in the memorial service. The younger generation in particular is invited to attend the ceremonies in order to set an example of remembrance and responsibility for peace and humanity - especially in times when war and conflict have once again come closer.
The public buildings will be flown with mourning flags.
It is expected that all amusements and other events that could jeopardise the seriousness and dignity of Remembrance Day will be avoided.
