Organic waste containers arrive at recycling islands

18 recycling islands in the Rosenheim city area will be equipped with organic waste containers. This is in response to the referendum held in June 2024, in which 72.3% of Rosenheim residents voted in favor of decentralized biowaste collection. The containers will be placed at the following locations Herbststraße (entrance to the cemetery), Am Ledererbach, Pernauerstraße, Ebersberger Straße (REWE), Lortzingstraße, Laurentiusweg, Wachtel-/ Adlerweg, Pürstlingstraße (at the sports field), Küpferlingstraße (underpass), Am Rackermoos, Hochfellnstraße (ESV sports field), Turnerweg / Auerbachbrücke, Gärtnerstraße, Schmiedgasse, Traberhof-/ Kaltwiesstraße, Geigelsteinweg, Pfaffenhofener Straße, Leitzachstraße (bridge). The containers were wrapped with foil, including information on which waste is allowed in the container and which is not. According to the Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act, organic waste from private households must be collected separately. Following the referendum and the majority vote in favour of decentralized collection, organic waste must be taken to the recycling center or to the recycling islands equipped with organic waste containers.
