#CrowdsourcingRosenheim: Documenting the city's history together

The Rosenheim City Archive is launching a new participatory project with #CrowdsourcingRosenheim. The aim is to jointly document the history of the city of Rosenheim and thus make it more visible in the long term.

"The project offers the opportunity to collaborate on unique documents from the city archive. Citizens can, for example, describe old photos from Rosenheim, type up texts from historical documents or share their own knowledge about places, people and events," says City Archive Director Dr Christian Höschler.

The project starts with a series of over 1,000 aerial photos that volunteers can analyse and describe. They were taken between 1957 and 2004 and depict various districts, buildings, public facilities, companies and landmarks in Rosenheim. Taking part is easy, no special prior knowledge is required. All information collected in this way will be checked by the city archive before it is published.

The city archive is happy to receive any helping hand at www.stadtarchiv.de/mitmachen. Whether young or old - everyone can make a contribution to keeping the history of Rosenheim alive.
