Successful sustainability week
Drawing attention to sustainable living - that was the aim of the Sustainability Week, which culminated last Saturday (20.07.2024) with the Action Day. Around 300 visitors came to the Salzstadel with its 20 exhibitors, projects and events.
"We presented the topic of sustainability in a low-threshold way over the course of a week and the response was consistently positive," says Stella Benedickt, Coordinator for Municipal Development Policy at the City of Rosenheim, who initiated the Sustainability Week. "There is already a great deal of interest in sustainability within the city's society and it is being implemented with a great deal of creativity. We can build on this well."
During the day of action, for example, a chat bar was set up, a herbal workshop was offered and there were demonstrations of how upcycling works. "For us, Saturday was all about trying things out, taking part and the special offer for children and young people. And the fair fashion show by the Fairtrade City of Rosenheim support association was also a real eye-catcher," says Benedickt.
The aim of the sustainability week is to show that even a small contribution can make a big difference, for example how a critical approach to one's own consumer behavior can protect the environment.
