From August 01: Rosenheim rent index comes into force

On August 01, 2023, the first qualified rent index for the city of Rosenheim will come into force. The rent index was drawn up on the basis of a survey of both tenants and landlords. Almost 2,400 data records were included in the evaluation. The evaluation resulted in an average local comparative rent in Rosenheim of 9.45 euros/m². The average value is a statistical value, for example for comparison with other municipalities. However, the applicable local comparable rent must always be calculated individually for the specific property.

To determine the local comparative rent, the city of Rosenheim provides an online calculator. Alternatively, the calculation can also be performed with the help of the rent index brochure. The brochure can be downloaded or is available in paper form at the information desk of the town hall at Königstraße 24.

A qualified rent index ensures transparency on the housing market and creates legal certainty. It documents the local comparative rent for different types of housing and is therefore of great practical importance for the balance between tenants and landlords.

Further information on the rent index is available from the City of Rosenheim from Monday to Thursday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on 08031 365 8480 or by e-mail.

Advice is provided by the Mieterverein Rosenheim und Umgebung e.V. (08031 34104, e-mail) and the Haus- & Grundbesitzerverein Rosenheim und Umgebung e.V. (08031 12635, e-mail).
