Nine new childminders

Childcare in the city and district is being expanded. Nine people have recently successfully completed the qualification course for day carers, meaning that childcare places for children from the age of one can be further expanded.

The qualification course is organised in cooperation with the City of Rosenheim's Office for Early Childhood Education, the District Youth Welfare Office and the Catholic Education Centre.

The 160-hour course lasted four months. Among other things, it covered the promotion of children, co-operation and communication with parents, as well as the legal, financial and institutional framework conditions of child day care. After successfully passing the final examination, the nine people can apply for their childcare licence.

After completing the qualification, some of the day carers will start working independently in publicly funded child day care or in a large day care centre. Child day care offers flexible and family-orientated care and support in small groups. Others train as assistants as part of the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labour and Social Affairs' further training offensive in order to be able to work in a child day care facility.

The next child day care qualification course starts on 21 January 2027 and an information evening will be held on 12 November 2026 at the Bildungswerk Rosenheim. People who are interested in working as a self-employed childminder can get in touch with the childminding counselling service: For the city of Rosenheim on tel. 08031/365-1604 and for the district of Rosenheim on tel. 08031/392-24511 and email: kindertagespflege(at)lra-rosenheim.de
