Open Monument Day in Rosenheim with free city tours and free admission to museums
The city of Rosenheim participates also this year in the "Day of the Open Monument" on Sunday, 11.09.2022. Thereby, fitting to the autumn festival, the way of the Rosenheim beer is traced in cooperation with monument owners and especially the city guides and the municipal museums open with free admission.
On "Breweries and Inns"(starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Marktfrauen fountain on Ludwigsplatz), "Beer and Baroque"(starting at 12:00 p.m. on the plaza of the Culture and Convention Center) and "From Salt to Beer"(starting at 2:00 p.m. also on the plaza of the Culture and Convention Center), expert members of the city guide guild will lead tours through the city center and tell interesting, bizarre, funny and unknown stories from earlier times. The tours last about 1 ½ hrs and sometimes take you through historic premises that cannot be visited otherwise. The tours are free of charge. Also open on this day are the Inn Museum in the Bruckstadel of the former river master's office, Innstrasse 74, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each time the Municipal Museum in the Mittertor and the Wood Technology Museum at Max-Josefs-Platz 4. Admission is also free.
The motto of this year's Open Monument Day is "Kulturspur. A case for monument protection". The Open Monument Day is Germany's largest cultural event and gives citizens nationwide an insight into monuments and their history.
