Rosenheim Theatre Week 2025

From 29 June to 6 July 2025, the City of Rosenheim's Department of Culture is organising the "Rosenheim Theatre Week" for the first time. It will be organised by seven Rosenheim theatre companies, who will present their current productions on an open-air stage on the Ölberg next to St. Nicholas Church.

The cooperation project aims to present the wide range of Rosenheim's thriving theatre scene: From classics and Bavarian comedies to contemporary auteur theatre and performative formats for children, young people and adults.

The Cultural Office of the City of Rosenheim is strengthening the cooperation project by taking on the role of organiser. "Supporting the wealth of ideas of Rosenheim's creative artists and promoting the networking of organisations are two important concerns of the city of Rosenheim. These are also reflected in our cultural policy guidelines, which were adopted by the city council in 2022," said Wolfgang Hauck, Head of Cultural Affairs for the City of Rosenheim, at the signing of the official cooperation agreement on 16 May at the Department of Culture.

The idea of the Rosenheim Theatre Week originated from the local theatre regulars' table, which was revived on the initiative of the "Junges Theater Rosenheim" association. The aim is to show the diversity and quality of the local theatre scene to a wide audience at a central location.

In bad weather, the performances take place in the theatre hall of the Künstlerhof, Ludwigsplatz 15.

The programme

The week will be opened on Sunday 29 June by the newly founded association Theaterfreunde Rosenheim . Its debut play "Der zerbrochene Krug", based on Heinrich von Kleist, will be performed once again on Tuesday. On Monday, the association for down-to-earth culture will present Ulf Schmidt's "Schuld und Schein". On Wednesday, the Rosenheim Theatre Island will follow with its new play "Schmelzwasser". On Thursday, the young INNszenierung ensemble presents its adaptation of Shakespeare's "Richard III", before Heimatbühne Rosenheim kicks off the weekend with its already successful comedy "Hinterweltsboazn" (supporting programme by clown Rosali Sonnenschein). On Saturday, TAM-Ost will perform the classic "Murder on the Orient Express". The Young Theatre Rosenheim concludes on Sunday afternoon with its sporty two-person version of Kleist's classic "Kohlhaas".

Le Pirate will provide the catering, and the audience can also enjoy the evening on the Ölberg after the theatre experience.
