Youth protection is divided into regulatory, structural and educational youth protection.
Educational youth protection encompasses preventive work in youth protection. It addresses children and young people directly in order to sensitize them to alcohol, media and tobacco. Educational youth protection is affiliated with the Stadtjugendring.
Statutory youth protection belongs to the Youth Welfare Office. The Youth Protection Officer has the task of monitoring and controlling the Youth Protection Act, the Youth Media Protection Act and the Youth Employment Protection Act. He primarily addresses event organizers, operators of restaurants, gas stations and kiosks, and in individual cases young people themselves. His duties also include issuing filming permits for children and young people.
The youth protection officer works closely with the Rosenheim police during youth protection checks. In the event of a violation of the Youth Protection Act, the Public Order Office issues penalty notices in accordance with the guidelines of the penalty catalog.
