The second construction phase involved the general refurbishment of the old building, which dates back to 1908. The conversion of the lighting to LED was also implemented and subsidised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) as part of the national climate protection initiative (KSI). The second section was put into use at the beginning of November 2024.
In the third construction phase, the east wing from 1969 and the pavilion will be demolished to make room for a new triple gymnasium.Construction is scheduled to be completed by 2026/2027. The estimated total project costs amount to EUR 73.72 million. The construction project is currently being subsidised with up to EUR 19.7 million.
Further information on the funding for LED lighting:
KSI: Beleuchtungssanierung Karolinen-Gymnasium Haus A in der Stadt Rosenheim, funding reference: 67K22909, duration/approval period: 01/05/2023 to 30/09/2024The aim of the project is to reduce the electricity-related CO2 emissions of the existing lighting system by over 50% by using highly efficient LED lighting. The existing outdated lighting systems will therefore be replaced with energy-saving LED lighting systems. The replacement is also intended to help achieve the city's own CO2 reduction targets by 2025.
The project is being organised by Zukunft-Umwelt-Gesellschaft (ZUG) gGmbH (www.klimaschutz.de/kommunalrichtlinie). The maximum funding amount for LED lighting is just under 60,000 euros."National Climate Protection Initiative

The project sum is 14.53 million euros (including cost estimates for contingencies). Implementation of the measure is scheduled from 2018 to 2024. To date, technically necessary modifications have been carried out in the ice stadium. This was accompanied by the construction of a porch between the outside entrance of the restaurant and the southern entrance. In 2020, fire protection upgrades and conversions were carried out, among other things, as well as the renovation of the sanitary areas and the completion of the porch. As part of the measures, a conversion of the lighting to LED has already taken place in 2021. This conversion is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) as part of the National Climate Protection Initiative (KSI). 2021 will also see the installation of a voice alarm system, the expansion of the fire alarm system as a full protection system and the completion of the security lighting. Completion of the renovation of the WC and sanitary areas is further planned.
In addition, roof refurbishment, (partial) façade refurbishment and replacement of entrance doors will follow in 2023, and replacement of the ice rink and wheelchair ramps and façade design will follow in 2024.
These measures are expected to receive 2.2 million euros in funding from the federal program for the renovation of municipal facilities in the areas of sports, youth and culture.

The plan is to demolish the currently closed Am Nörreut teaching pool and build a new one on the same site with five swimming lanes and a pool length of 25 metres. This design will enable the pool to be used as a school sports, training and competition facility and the required six sports centre units can be achieved again.
The cost calculation is around 19.1 million euros and FAG funding of around 3 million euros can be expected from the Free State of Bavaria.
The first preliminary measures were carried out in summer 2023 and 2024, the demolition of the existing building is scheduled for autumn 2025 and the start of construction of the new building in spring 2026. Completion is planned for 2027.

The project is being subsidised by the Free State of Bavaria with FAG funds amounting to around EUR 2.55 million. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-2026, with completion targeted for early 2028.

The Prinzregentenschule currently has a space deficit compared to the model space program of the Government of Upper Bavaria. In order to meet this need, it is necessary for the after-school care center to be moved out of the building and for the after-school care center to be constructed as a new separate building on the sports field opposite.
In addition, there is a lack of rooms for the midday meals of the restricted and open all-day school. The new building is therefore to provide space for three after-school groups and the midday meals for the all-day school students.
The cost calculation is around 5.95 million euros. The measure is expected to be subsidized by the Free State of Bavaria with FAG funds. Construction began in March 2022 and is expected to be completed in mid-2023.
